The unlimited genius pool of space exploration focused experts that is NASA has spilled into a new arena of technology, Gaming. With hopes of raising awareness of the upcoming touchdown of the Curiosity rover on the surface of Mars, NASA is offering a free game simulating the event. Affectionately nicknamed, “Seven Minutes of Terror” by Red Planet mission engineers, “Mars Rover Landing” is available via the Xbox Live Marketplace and Kinect Central. The real Mars Rover, Curiosity, left earth in November and is scheduled to land at Mars’ Gale Crater the evening of Aug. 5. The mission is to explore the crater for organic compounds that, if found, could imply life existed there. Now that, is a game idea worth doing! Go NASA!
